Digital Deals Giving More Bang for your Buck

In a world where we consume our media digitally, it’s interesting to note what steps have been taken in order to make this choice more appealing for gamers. Specifically, I’m referring to Sony and their push to move the middleman (ie: Gamestop) out of the fold. They recently tried implementing a preorder discount of 10% off for titles such as Dishonored and NBA 2k13. That now seems to be just the beginning as I noticed a sweet new deal available on the PlayStation Store and you don’t even have to be a Plus member!

The PlayStation Store has an interesting deal available with the new release Hitman Absolution. If you buy the digital release titled Hitman Absolution Special Edition, you will receive the following.

  • Deus Ex Disguise DLC for use in Contracts Mode
  • Deus Ex ‘Zenith’ Handgun DLC for use in Contracts Mode
  • Discount on the digital version of Sleeping Dogs

Deus Ex inspired DLC for Hitman Absolution

The DLC is pretty sweet but it was the discount on Sleeping Dogs that caught my eye. After buying and downloading Hitman Absolution, go back to the PlayStation Store and find Sleeping Dogs. You will see it available now for a pretty cool $25!

Unfortunately for me, I can’t take advantage of this deal since I already had my copy preordered and shipped by the time I found out about it. This is a great pickup though for anyone who doesn’t already have Sleeping Dogs. It’s also a pretty sweet way of sticking it to Gamestop if you’re not a fan of their business practices like me. Enjoy!
