What the frag!? DC Comics‘ own self proclaimed “Ultimate Bastich”, Lobo, may be brought to the big screen after all now that Warner Bros. has hired Brad Peyton to direct and rewrite a film adaptation of the popular comic book character.
Lobo was originally introduced as a villain in the 80’s but only saw popularity during the early 90’s when he was revamped as a bounty hunting anti-hero. He’s well known for riding around on his interstellar motorbike and using a chain with a hook attached as his primary weapon. He was made primarily as an answer to grittier characters from Marvel Comics such as Ghost Rider, The Punisher, and Wolverine.
Peyton is most well known for directing Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore and more recently Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. While this isn’t the greatest resume to inspire optimism, Lobo fans can only hope that maybe taking a project that has darker tones to it will inspire a greater effort. I’m more curious as to who gets cast to play as “The Main Man” himself.
